Karim Ahmed Mohamed (karim.ahmed@unir.net) is an Associate Professor (Profesor Contratado Doctor) at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of UNIR. He holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and has postgraduate training in research methodology. His academic background includes bachelor’s degrees in Sociology, Social Work, Political Science and Public Administration, and Social and Cultural Anthropology, all obtained at the University of Granada. He has carried out research work at institutions such as the CSIC, the CIS, and the INAP, and has completed research stays in Canada (Queen’s University) and the United Kingdom (the University of Manchester). He has held ANECA accreditation since 2013 for the position of Profesor Contratado Doctor (Associate Professor), and his ANECA accreditation for the position of Profesor Titular (Tenured Professor) is currently under review. He has been awarded one six-year research period (sexenio), and another is also currently under evaluation. His areas of interest include the sociology of the life course (childhood, youth, and ageing), sociology of education, and quantitative research methodology.
