Dafne Muntanyola-Saura (PhD UAB 2008) is a Tenured Assistant Professor at the department of Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She has been a postdoctoral scholar at Université de Nice, at the department of Cognitive Science at University de California, San Diego (UCSD) and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid with the scholarships Caja Madrid, Fulbright and Alianza 4 Universidades. The backbone of her research is building an integrated model on expert and artistic knowledge in teamwork in apparently unrelated environments such as hospitals, TV, sports, visual arts or dance. Her research crosses over the disciplinary boundaries of cognitive science and sociology of the arts and culture. She explores patterns of distributed decision-making with methodologies such as Social Network Analysis and Video-Aided Ethnography. She published more than 40 papers. Half of them are in English, the rest in Spanish, Catalan, French and Italian. She published in Journal for the Theory of Social Behaviour, Theory & Psychology, Etnografia e Ricerca Qualitativa, Revue de Synthèse, Quality & Quantity; Gender, Work & Organization; Revista Internacional de Sociología among others. She interviewed and translated Aaron Cicourel and David Kirsh, belongs to the editing team of the journal DEBATS and enjoys writing book reviews. She is the President of the Comitee on Sociology of Culture and the Arts of the Spanish Sociological Association, and of the Culture and Religion Comitee of the Sociological Catalan Association.
